Automotive solid state relay

Selection tips

The data provided in the parameter table is measured at room temperature (25°C). Actual working conditions should have some margin. For resistive loads: select current rating 2.5-4 times the load current, and voltage rating 2-2.5 times the load voltage supply. For inductive loads: select current rating 3-7 times the load current, and voltage rating 2.5-3 times the load voltage.


According to the relationship between load current and ambient temperature, increase the current capacity of the solid-state relay accordingly when the ambient temperature is high or the heat dissipation conditions are poor.


To prevent product failure due to load short-circuit during use, a fast-acting circuit breaker or fast-blow fuse corresponding to this product should be connected in series with the load circuit. Alternatively, the self-protected QDZ-L (overcurrent) or QDZ-Z (short-circuit) upgraded products can be selected.


For inductive loads, a freewheeling diode must be connected in parallel across the load, and a metal oxide varistor (MOV) rated at 1-1.5 times the supply voltage must be connected in parallel at the output to prevent high voltage spikes from damaging the solid-state switch during switching.


During installation, the heat sink contact surface with the product must be flat and clean, and a layer of thermal silicone grease should be applied. Finally, tighten the screws symmetrically with flat washers and spring washers to secure the assembly.
